We might be starting to sound like a broken record on this site considering how often we talk about good guys with guns stopping bad guys with guns but it’s really strange how the left just refuses to acknowledge the many instances where good guys with guns save lives.
On Monday, another example presented itself in Washington state. We almost saw a horrifying tragedy at a Wal Mart but some good guys with guns were around to save the day.
From Gateway Pundit:
“There were three civilians going after him (the shooter) to shoot him and two of them had their guns up — and then the third guy shot him through the window of the car,” explains Megan Chadwick to KIRO7 news, as she witnessed a would-be mass shooter taken out by multiple armed citizens at a Walmart just outside of Olympia, WA.
An armed civilian took down a shooter after at least two people were shot Sunday night at a Washington state Walmart, police said.
Tumwater police said the civilian, described by officers as a good Samaritan, shot and killed the suspect at the scene.
The shooting happened just after 5:30 p.m. at the Walmart Supercenter in Tumwater, about 65 miles south of Seattle.
From Fox News:
A gunman injured a teen and shot a man in a pair of carjacking attempts Sunday, before being killed by a bystander outside a Washington state Walmart store.
The incident at the Walmart in Tumwater happened about 5 p.m.
A witness told KOMO-TV that people were in line when they heard gunfire in the store. Witnesses told other media that they were inside the store and heard shots.
Tumwater Police Department spokeswoman Laura Wohl said it is unclear whether the gunman was ever inside the store or if shots were fired inside, The Olympian reported .
Wohl said a man was shot when the gunman tried to carjack his vehicle.
Two bystanders outside the store drew their weapons and at least one of them fatally shot the gunman, Wohl told the Olympian.
Never forget. A good guy with a gun is the best way to stop a bad guy with a gun.
From Fox News:
A 2014 FBI report claims that only once between 2000 and 2013 did a concealed handgun permit holder stop a public shooting (they claimed to look at all cases where guns were fired in public that weren’t part of a gang fight or some other crime). This single case occurred in Winnemucca, Nevada in May 2008, when a customer with a permit fatally shot an attacker who had just killed two people. They didn’t even include the 2007 church shooting in Colorado Springs, where a killer had already taken two lives at the church before being stopped by a permit holder.
This false claim just shows how politicized the FBI became under the Obama administration. Many times, police, sheriffs, and prosecutors have gone on the record and credited permit holders with saving many lives. These attacks didn’t get national news attention, but they would have been on front pages everywhere if a permit holder hadn’t intervened.
There are countless examples of people using guns in self-defense at their homes or workplaces. But I want to focus on a much narrower set of cases where permit holders stopped public shootings. Here are 10 additional recent cases.
